The problem

Broken sleep and low energy the next day are the same problem

Sleep often breaks up in the second half of the night. The body wakes, stays alert a while, and goes back under lightly if at all. Time in bed stays the same. Time asleep does not.

The next day is where it shows. Slower thinking, words that take longer to find, tiredness coffee does not fix. Usually treated as two problems. It is one, measured at two different times.

Somnii uses three actives, each working on a different part of it.

Magnesium bisglycinate, close up
Magnesium bisglycinate · 200mg

What magnesium does in the body

Magnesium takes part in more than three hundred enzyme reactions. Three of them matter for sleep and energy.

It relaxes muscles and nerves. Calcium is what makes a muscle contract, and magnesium controls the calcium. With enough of it, muscles release instead of holding.

It helps manage the stress response. It takes part in the systems regulating the hormones that keep the body alert when it is trying to settle.

It makes energy usable. ATP is the molecule every cell spends, and it only works when bound to magnesium.

Why the form matters. How much is absorbed depends on what the magnesium is bonded to. Here it is glycine, an amino acid, so it travels amino acid pathways. Glycine settles the body on its own, and the pair is gentle on the stomach.

Creatine monohydrate · 5g

What creatine does in the body

Every cell runs on ATP. Spending it strips a phosphate group off the molecule, which has to go back on before the cell can use it again. Creatine is what hands it back.

For its size the brain uses more energy than any other organ, so it runs short first. Broken sleep raises the rate ATP is spent, which is why a poor night shows up as slower recall rather than only as tiredness.

The body makes some creatine and gets the rest from food, mainly red meat. 5g daily is the researched amount, and stores take three to four weeks to fill.

L-theanine · 100mg

What L-theanine does in the body

L-theanine is an amino acid found in green tea. It crosses into the brain, where it takes part in the signalling that governs how alert or settled a person feels.

It supports a calm state without causing drowsiness, which is why it is here. A body that settles and a mind that stops working, with no sedation carried into the morning. 100mg is a standard research amount.

All three together

How the three work together

Creatine rebuilds ATP after it is spent. Magnesium is what makes ATP usable. They act on the same process at two different points, so each is limited by the other: creatine alone rebuilds fuel the body cannot fully spend, magnesium alone lets it spend fuel that is not being rebuilt fast enough.

L-theanine acts somewhere else. Neither of the other two changes how settled a person feels at the point of falling asleep.

For women

The need for all three goes up in a woman's most demanding years

Those years look different depending on where a woman is. Broken nights with small children. Hormonal change through perimenopause and menopause. Or the point where holding onto muscle and bone takes more work than it used to.

The shortfall underneath is the same. Interrupted sleep cuts recovery short, so ATP is spent faster than it is rebuilt and the draw on creatine rises. The stress response stays active longer, which uses more magnesium, at a point when intake from food is already commonly reported below recommended levels.

Women also start from lower baseline creatine stores than men, and dietary creatine comes mostly from red meat. So the need rises exactly when sleep is least reliable.

What is in each sachet

What is in each sachet

200mg magnesium bisglycinate, 5g creatine monohydrate, 100mg L-theanine. Printed in full on the box.

No melatonin. Somnii is not built to make sleep start faster; it works on staying asleep and on the day after. No added sugar, no artificial color, no filler. Lemon and ginger.

Every batch is checked by an independent lab against the label, plus heavy metals and bacteria. Made in an FDA registered, GMP certified facility.

One sachet, six jobs
How to take it

How to take it, and how soon it works

One sachet stirred into water, cold or warm, 30 to 45 minutes before bed. Thirty to a box, one for each night.

Magnesium and L-theanine act from the first night. Creatine takes three to four weeks of daily intake before stores fill, so the daytime part arrives later. Which is why it is taken daily rather than only on the bad nights.

Why these three?

Magnesium bisglycinate. Helps muscles and nerves relax, and makes ATP usable. Bonded to glycine so it is absorbed well.

Creatine monohydrate. Rebuilds ATP after it has been spent, in the brain as well as in muscle.

L-theanine. Supports a calm state at the point of falling asleep, without causing drowsiness the next morning.

All three. Magnesium and creatine act on the same energy process at two different points. L-theanine covers what that process does not reach.

Ingredients

Magnesium bisglycinate 200mg elemental, creatine monohydrate 5g, L-theanine 100mg from green tea, natural lemon and ginger flavor.

30 sachets per box, 7.6g per sachet. No melatonin, no added sugar, no artificial colors, no fillers or bulking agents, no proprietary blends.

Science & certifications

Third-party testing. Every batch is checked by an independent lab against the label, plus heavy metals and bacteria. Eurofins, July 2026: magnesium 236mg, L-theanine 103mg, creatine 5.68g. Each one at or above what the box says.

Certifications. FDA registered, GMP certified facility.

Directions

One sachet stirred into water, cold or warm, 30 to 45 minutes before bed. Daily. 30 sachets per box.

Consult a physician before use, particularly during pregnancy or while taking prescription medication. Magnesium can interact with some medications, including certain antibiotics.

What to expect

Week 1 to 2. The sleep side. Magnesium and L-theanine work from the first night.

Week 3 to 4. Creatine takes a few weeks to build up in muscle and brain, so the daytime difference comes later.

Which is why most people choose three boxes.

"Wake up genuinely rested"

What sold me is that there's no melatonin in it. I used to take melatonin gummies and I'd wake up groggy and foggy, almost like a hangover. I fall asleep more easily but wake up genuinely rested rather than zombied out.

"Peace of mind daily"

as a mom I really dont mess around with quality. this is third party tested, GMP, and they even test for heavy metals, which honestly most brands dont bother with. it gives me peace of mind taking it daily, and it works.

"Not sweet, which I like"

Took a bit of time to arrive, but I like the flavor. I guess it's quite natual so it doesn't taste sweet at all. If you like really sweet stuff then better try another brand

Questions

The honest answers

Who is Somnii for?

Women in the years when sleep is least reliable and the demands are highest. That looks different depending on where someone is: broken nights with small children, hormonal change through perimenopause and menopause, or the point where holding onto muscle and bone takes more work than it used to.

It is a dietary supplement, not a treatment for a diagnosed sleep disorder. Anyone who suspects one should speak to a doctor.

Will the creatine make me bulky or bloated?

Creatine is in this formula for the brain rather than for size. It draws a small amount of water into muscle cells, which is not the same as holding water under the skin, and it does not build muscle on its own. Visible muscle comes from training and eating for it.

The 5g here is the amount used in most of the research, taken daily rather than loaded.

Why is there no melatonin in it?

Melatonin is a hormone that signals when sleep should begin, so it acts before sleep starts. This formula works on staying asleep and on the energy available the next day.

There is also a difference between a nutrient, which the body takes in from outside, and a hormone, which the body already makes for itself. There is nothing here to wean off.

Can I take it in the morning instead of at night?

Creatine does not need a particular time of day, so that part works whenever it is taken. Magnesium and L-theanine are there for the evening, and that is where most of their value sits.

Taken in the morning, one of the three still does its job and the other two do less.

How long before I notice anything?

Magnesium and L-theanine act from the first night. Creatine takes around three to four weeks of daily intake before stores fill, so the daytime part arrives later than the sleep part.

That is the reason to take it daily rather than only on the nights it seems needed, and the reason most people start with three boxes.

What does it taste like?

Real lemon and ginger, sweetened with monk fruit. Light rather than sweet, and not medicinal. It works in cold or warm water and dissolves to a clear pale yellow with nothing left at the bottom.

No added sugar, no artificial color, no filler.

Will it upset my stomach?

The form of magnesium is the usual culprit. Poorly absorbed forms stay in the digestive tract and hold water there. Bisglycinate is bonded to glycine, an amino acid, and is absorbed along amino acid pathways instead, which is why it is the form suited to taking every night.

Is it safe with medication, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Consult a physician before use, particularly during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or while taking prescription medication. Magnesium can interact with some medications, including certain antibiotics.
